The Plano Independent School District Sockwell Center is used for in-district training and professional development, and is also available for rental by non-district organizations. A spacious and versatile auditorium accommodates intimate workshops as well as theater-style conferences. The center has three networked PC labs (30 desktops) and video conferencing capability. The 5,600 square foot main auditorium includes full, half and quarter area set-ups. The full auditorium seats 500 people and has a 9x12 foot rigid, dual rear-projection, high-definition screen. All rooms at the Sockwell Center are equipped with DLP projection and Internet connectivity. Overhead projectors, easels and flipcharts are available as are RF remotes/laser pointers for Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. Each room is equipped with enhanced computers to manage presentations. A full-service business center includes copier, printer, fax and dedicated PCs to monitor e-mail. Sockwelll Center is available to meeting and business groups only. Social events are not permitted and Sockwell is a non-smoking facility. |
